This course is aimed at GPNS and AHP and advanced practitioners.
Systems workshops are open to all health professionals that are assessing, triaging, and managing patients in primary care. This workshop will help to build or refresh your systematic history taking and examination skills within first contact diagnosis and care.
This workshop will be facilitated by an expert GP trainer. It will provide delegates with an opportunity to refresh and improve their knowledge and skills in RESPIRATORY and PRECORDIAL assessment. In addition, latest medications and treatment pathways/ NICE guidance will be discussed. The day will be interactive and there will be an informal opportunity for participants to examine each other if they require a refresher in that area.
We will provide a competency learning framework that you can use in practice to build on your competency with your mentor or add to your portfolio as evidence of obtaining this skill.
Course Content
- Understand the principles of systematic history taking and specific history taking for the Respiratory and Cardiac system
- Have an awareness of ‘red flags’, medications, treatment pathways and differential diagnoses in Chest and cardiac
- Improve knowledge and skills on how to examine the Respiratory and Cardiac system
- Improve competence regarding appropriate referral.
