This virtual half day course is open to all Health Care Providers who are expanding their skill set to include administration of immunisations. The HCP should already have knowledge on the handling of sharps and ongoing annual CPR/anaphylaxis updates.

The course will explore Herpes Zoster disease, prevalence and risks to the individual, before discussing injectable medicines and the governance for safe practice.

Reflecting the changes to the Shingles vaccination program, discussion will focus on vaccine choices and roll out trajectory.

The HCP will have access to the relevant paperwork for practice and a competency framework for completion in the workplace with mentor supervision.

In support of National Minimum Standards, HCPs that attend this course will be undertaking advanced clinical practice that requires professional maturity in their role and must be trained to, or have the equivalent of NVQ 3.
