Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a multisystem long term condition encompassing Heart Failure (preserved and Reduced ejection fraction), AF, VTE, Stroke, Hypertension, Ischemic Heart Disease and Hyperlipidaemia and is the leading global cause of death. This course is designed for Nurses, Paramedic Practitioners and Pharmacists who are managing long term condition reviews in Practice.

Within the training, you will update on the cardiovascular system functions and revisit the risk factors for CVD, exploring the management of hypertension and cholesterol whilst discussing early recognition and treatment of DVT and PE. The afternoon will be primarily focussed on the management of chronic heart failure for both preserved and ejection fraction.

Delivered by an Advanced Practitioner in primary care, you be provided  with resources and frameworks to help manage patients with CVD and equip you with the necessary skills to meet General Practice QoF.

  • To explore Pharmaco-therapeutics associated with cardiovascular disease: Hypertension and dyslipidaemia.
  • Obtain resources and guidance on assessment, diagnosis and monitoring.
