Pneumococcal Vaccination Training Course for Health Care Assistants

This Event Has Passed
This event has passed and can no longer be booked.

This virtual half day course is open to all Health Care Providers (HCPs) who are expanding their skill set to include administration of immunisations.

The course will explore Pneumococcal disease, prevalence and disease risk, before discussing injectable medicines and the governance for safe practice. Examples of the relevant paperwork for practice will be shared and a competency framework for completion in the workplace with assessor supervision will be provided.

The HCP should already have knowledge on the handling of sharps and ongoing annual CPR/anaphylaxis updates. In support of National Minimum Standards, HCAs that attend this course will be undertaking advanced clinical practice that requires professional maturity in their role and must be trained to or have the equivalent of NVQ 3
